Property Tax Payment Information

Property tax bills are mailed in December by the town, city or village treasurer.   Tax bills, statements and receipts can be printed online.

Only the appropriate town, city or village treasurers can accept payments for the first installment.  The Sawyer County Treasurer cannot accept current year tax payments due by January 31.  As a result, telephone and online payment options to the county are deactivated during December and January.

All bills less than $100 have to be paid in full by January 31 to the appropriate town, city or village treasurer.

All personal property taxes, except improvements on leased land, are due in full by January 31 to the appropriate town, city or village treasurer.  Any inquiries regarding personal property tax information should be directed to the local municipality treasurer.

All delinquent taxes are paid to the Sawyer County Treasurer and can be paid at any time.

First installment payments are due by January 31 and must be paid to the appropriate town, city or village treasurer.  Failure to pay the first installment by January 31 will cause the entire remaining balance to become delinquent as of February 1.  You will not have the second installment option.

Second installment payments are due by July 31 and must be paid to the Sawyer County Treasurer.   Failure to pay the second installment by July 31 will the cause the remaining balance to become delinquent as of February 1.

Interest of 1% and penalty of 0.25% will be charged on all delinquent balance beginning the first day of each month until paid in full.

All delinquent and second installment payments must be made to the Sawyer County Treasurer.   Make check or money order payable to:   SAWYER COUNTY TREASURER
